Appellate Practice

Lauren Wood is a litigation attorney in the St. Louis office, focusing her practice on general commercial litigation. With more than twenty years of litigation experience, Lauren’s practice spans a broad range of civil matters, including commercial disputes, personal and business torts, and fiduciary litigation.

Lauren has tried numerous cases to verdict and regularly represents her clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and administrative bodies. Lauren’s litigation experience includes serving as trial counsel for large corporations, closely held companies, transportation companies, manufacturers, liability insurers and individuals.

Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. She earned her law degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 2005 where she served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Public Law Review. While in law school, Lauren interned at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District for the Honorable George Draper. She is a Barrister in the Theodore McMillian Inn of Court, a member of the Board of Governors of the St. Louis Artists’ Guild and a member of the Board of Directors for A.R.C. Angels Foundation.

Representative Matters

As lead counsel, successfully obtained, on appeal, reversal of summary judgment against a liability insurer regarding a coverage dispute.

As lead counsel, obtained a judgment on competing claims for breach of fiduciary duties  between former business partners.

As lead counsel, obtained a verdict on behalf of a contractor on claim of negligence involving damage to underground utilities.

As lead counsel, obtained a decision in favor of a medical testing laboratory on claims of overpayment by Medicaid.

As lead counsel, obtained summary judgment on behalf of a law firm on claims of professional negligence and successfully defended the decision on appeal.

Successfully arbitrated claims between a buyer and seller of a manufacturing company.
