St. Louis Law Firm BB&D Successfully Defends Physician’s License

The Court of Appeals has affirmed, without a published opinion, a decision of the Administrative Hearing Commission finding no cause to discipline the license of Dr. James Knight.

One of Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch’s founding partners, Jim Deutsch, represented Dr. Knight before the Commission and the Court of Appeals. At depositions and at the hearing, BB&D’s legal team objected to the lack of foundation and the hearsay nature of the Board’s proposed experts’ testimonies.  The Commission sustained BB&D’s objections, found that the Board had not met its evidentiary burden, and found no cause to discipline Dr. Knight’s license.

On appeal, both the Cole County Circuit Court and the Court of Appeals, Western District, affirmed the Commission’s findings.
