Stephan Tomlinson is Counsel in the firm’s St. Louis office, where his practice focuses on real estate, land use, corporate, and government and regulatory matters.

Stephan joined the firm from St. Charles County, where he served as Associate County Counselor and was lead counsel on a range of significant real estate, land use, and regulatory matters, including complex real estate transactions, a $40 million county facility redevelopment project, and county procurement and contracting. He also advised County leadership on state legislative matters.

Earlier in his career, Stephan held a series of leadership roles with the State of Missouri, including Deputy General Counsel for the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Deputy Director of the Family Support Division, and Legislative and Constituent Services Director for the Missouri Department of Social Services. He has also taught Legal Research & Writing and Advocacy as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri School of Law.

Stephan is active in his community, currently serving as a Commissioner on the City of Creve Coeur’s Planning & Zoning Commission and as Chair of the Missouri Bar’s Local Government Attorneys Committee.
